Every year on Uncle Ho's birthday (May 19), lotus flowers begin to bloom in every part of Ha Tinh , spreading their fragrance throughout the countryside.
This year, at the Memorial Site of Uncle Ho's Visit to Ha Tinh (Ha Tinh City), pink lotus flowers have begun to bloom, as if recalling the summer 66 years ago when Uncle Ho visited his homeland Ha Tinh. It was at this place that he advised: "We must unite, be determined to overcome difficulties, and achieve victory..., making Ha Tinh progress in all aspects."
Overcoming difficulties, with revolutionary will and absolute faith in the Party's leadership, every Ha Tinh citizen has strived to rise up, persevering and enduring like pink lotus flowers.
In the 7-hectare lotus field in residential group 15, Thach Ha town, the lotus roots have also begun to give off a fragrant scent. The lotus ponds in the middle of the village not only beautify the natural and ecological landscape, but also bring a good income to the farmers here by selling lotus seeds.
According to lotus growers here, the time from when each lotus flower blooms until it becomes a mature mirror that can be harvested for seeds lasts about a month. At this time, the lotus flower has just bloomed so it cannot be harvested yet.
In May, when summer “steps” into the porch, the sound of cicadas chirps, and lotuses compete to show off their beauty. The newly emerged lotus buds have a healthy, strong beauty.
The lotus is a special flower. Rarely does any flower have its entire stem, bulb, flower, and leaves used like the lotus. Even though it grows and lives in the mud, the lotus still strongly rises above the water to reach the sun to receive the morning sunlight.
