In order to ensure the safety of people and property, from early morning, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Yen Dinh commune urgently directed local forces to support households in evacuating people and property to higher locations. At flooded underground points, local authorities directed functional forces to place barriers, fences, and assign guards, absolutely not allowing people to move through dangerous areas.

Regarding traffic, in Yen Dinh commune, there were 4 large landslides and 5 small landslides on Highway 31. As soon as the information was received, the commune deployed functional forces to direct traffic. Military forces, police and other local forces were mobilized to be present promptly with machines such as: Excavators, cranes, hand saws... to organize the leveling of rocks and soil, and cut down fallen trees on the road.

With the active participation of the forces, by about 9 am, traffic through the area was basically flowing. However, local authorities warned people to limit travel through this area to prevent and avoid dangerous situations that may occur.

He requested the Commune Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue to continue to review and closely monitor the situation, mobilize all resources to urgently overcome landslides; ensure safety of people and property. In the immediate future, it is necessary to direct the villages to ensure temporary living conditions for people in isolated areas; regularly connect with the village and commune management boards and other information channels to grasp weather developments in the area, proactively respond to dangerous situations.

In Ngheo village, Tuan Dao commune, this morning, a household had its house damaged by rocks and soil falling in; a lot of rocks and soil from the mountain slid down onto Highway 291, causing traffic congestion. Currently, the rain has stopped in the area. Local authorities are focusing on measures to overcome the incident; the damage has not yet been estimated.

He requested the functional forces to coordinate with the locality to urgently mobilize machinery and equipment to clear landslides as quickly as possible on Provincial Road 291, creating favorable conditions for people and vehicles to circulate.
