Promoting Digital Government, prioritizing digitalization and data synchronization standardization process

DNVN - In the context of deep international integration, data digitization is no longer an option but has become an urgent and vital requirement for every country and every field. Especially in Vietnam, when the goal of building a digital government, digital society and digital economy is being put on top, the issue of data is becoming more prominent.

The reality shows that, despite progress, the country's digital data resources are still scattered, lacking standardization, and have not been fully exploited. This is the bottleneck that needs to be urgently resolved to create momentum for the entire digital transformation process. Without high-quality, standardized, and readily shared digital data, any effort to build information systems, smart applications, or online public services will find it difficult to maximize their effectiveness.

Deeply aware of this issue, the Government promptly issued Resolution 214/NQ-CP dated July 23, 2025 on promoting data creation to serve comprehensive digital transformation. This Resolution is not only a legal document but also an urgent action order, clearly affirming that the application of technology to digitize data has become a top priority requirement.

Data is considered the "blood" of the digital economy and is an invaluable resource. An effective digital government relies on the ability to collect, process and analyze data to make timely and accurate decisions. When data is still scattered in paper form, lacking connectivity and standardization, the ability to "digitize" government operations will be severely limited, missing out on huge development opportunities.

For citizens and businesses, digitalizing data is the key to making online public services truly convenient, transparent, and time-saving. If citizens still have to re-provide existing documents, or if records are not digitized from the initial point of contact, the goal of increasing satisfaction and reducing hassles will be difficult to achieve. This becomes even more urgent as countries around the world are racing hard to build a national digital data warehouse, forcing Vietnam to quickly catch up with this trend to maintain and improve competitiveness.

Given the importance and urgency of the issue, Resolution 214/NQ-CP has provided clear directions on the responsibilities of ministries, branches and especially local authorities. From the central level to provinces, cities and communes, it is necessary to quickly and strongly implement data creation. This requires localities to proactively review and evaluate the current status of their data, prioritizing investment in modern technology solutions to digitize data right at the points of receiving documents, especially at public administrative service centers in the spirit of Decree 118/2025/ND-CP.

Building a standardized process for collecting, processing and storing data to ensure consistency and connectivity is paramount. Furthermore, it is necessary to strengthen the training of human resources with sufficient capacity to operate and effectively exploit digital data systems. This transformation will bring about clear results in optimizing resources, enhancing transparency and improving service quality.

Data digitization is no longer a single project but a comprehensive strategy, a premise for realizing major goals of digital transformation. The consensus and drastic actions of provinces, cities and communes in data digitization will create a combined strength, helping Vietnam quickly achieve the goal of digital government, bringing practical benefits to people, businesses and the sustainable development of the country.
